Pathway to Surgery

Once you decide to become a patient after attending the a seminar, you will have a consultation with one of our Surgeons; Titus D. Duncan, M.D., F.A.C.S, Larry L. Hobson, M.D., F.A.C.S. or Fritz Jean-Pierre, M.D. during which he will evaluate your candidacy for surgical weight loss determine which approach is most appropriate for you. You will also meet the rest of our team and receive additional educational information about the surgery or tailored weight loss program.

Once the bariatric surgery consultation is complete, a medical examination process will follow. This will include a psychological evaluation, a number of pre-operative tests, and a request for medical clearance from your Primary Care Physician or from our Medical Weight Loss Specialist.

Finally, a few days prior to your scheduled surgery, you will visit our office for your consent appointment. This is a meeting between you and a member of our team at which you can discuss any information and ask any questions that have not yet been addressed. After surgery, you will be educated on good nutritional choices, the benefits of an exercise plan, and the value of vitamins. Unlike traditional weight loss programs that attempt to take a one-size-fits-all approach, we design each plan around the lifestyle and needs of each patient.
