Breast Augmentation

Breast Augmentation, also called Mammoplasty, is one of the fastest growing segments of cosmetic surgery today. Breast augmentation essentially allows the patient to change the Breast Impant Cosmetic Surgeryshape and size of their breasts and is usually performed for purely cosmetic reasons or when breast volume is reduced after extreme weight loss or pregnancy.

With advances in minimally invasive techniques and modern implant technology, breast implants have never been as safe as they are today and results are excellent with minimal complications.

The patient will be able to choose from a wide range of silicone or saline (salt-water solution) implants to achieve their desired size and shape. Our office will be able to help patients choose the right size for them.

Considerations
Be sure to do research on the size and shape of breast that you would like. Revising a breast augmentation is a more difficult procedure with greater health risks. It is important to know what you’d like the first time around.

Risks of Breast Augmentation Surgery
While we will discuss the risks of breast augmentation in detail at your consultation, it is important that you understand the risks of surgery as detailed below:

  • Breast augmentation is serious surgery and can cause bleeding and infection post-operatively.
  • Everybody scars differently and scarring patterns may not be as you expect.
  • Breasts and nipples may become more or less sensitive temporarily or permanently.
  • The implant may leak or burst.
  • The skin over the implant may wrinkle.

While these risks are very real, a well trained and knowledgeable surgeon will be able to minimize them. As a further precaution, our office will perform an analysis of your medical condition and risk factors before we approve you for surgery.
